1. Acceptance of Terms

By using EvidenceLens (the Service), whether through the website, browser extension, mobile app, or API, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

EvidenceLens is a research-assistance product that examines YouTube videos, websites, and PDF documents. It picks out the factual claims they contain and checks those claims against scientific literature. Its results are meant for informational purposes only and should not be treated as definitive scientific assessments.

3. Accounts and Authentication

You can use the extension without an account (Free tier). If you create an account through Google sign-in, you can manage your subscription and track your activity. Keeping your account secure is your responsibility.

4. Subscription and Billing

  • The Free plan costs nothing and includes limited monthly usage.
  • The Plus monthly plan costs €5.99/month. The Plus Lifetime plan is a single €49 payment made through Stripe.
  • With the Lifetime plan, you can use paid Plus features for as long as EvidenceLens keeps operating and offering them. Here, "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the EvidenceLens service, not to the lifetime of any individual person or company. The plan does not guarantee that the Service will remain available indefinitely, nor that any specific feature, third-party integration, app distribution channel, data provider, or pricing package will.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service, subject to applicable law, for technical, business, legal, security, or operational reasons. If the Service is discontinued, Lifetime plan access ends at the same time.
  • At any time, you may cancel your subscription. If you do, your access lasts until the billing period ends.
  • We handle refunds case by case.

5. Usage Limits

Every plan comes with monthly usage limits. Going over a limit temporarily restricts the affected feature until the next calendar month starts. Your account may be suspended if you abuse the API or try to get around the limits.

6. Disclaimer

The Service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Claim verifications from EvidenceLens are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or reliable, and AI-generated analysis may contain errors. Always check primary sources before making critical decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

EvidenceLens is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. By continuing to use the Service after a change, you accept the new terms.
